# Balance

Balance is your accumulated Conso Points record. It reflects long-term contribution and is designed to be stable and comparable over time.

**Balance** represents the Conso Points you’ve accumulated and retained. It is Conso’s way to record “value created” over time—so your contribution doesn’t reset just because you stop using the app for a day.

Balance is the primary number used when Conso needs a durable indicator of your participation.

<mark style="background-color:$primary;">**What Balance is**</mark>

* Your accumulated Conso Points record
* Designed to be stable and meaningful over time
* Associated with your Conso identity (PASS ID)

You can think of Balance as your “points account balance”.

<mark style="background-color:$primary;">**What Balance is used for**</mark>

Balance is typically used for:

* Long-term contribution tracking (your history)
* Eligibility checks (e.g., access, milestones, certain reward conditions)
* Recognition and progression (when Conso adds tiering or milestones)

**Note**

The exact use of Balance may evolve as Conso updates product mechanics.

<mark style="background-color:$primary;">**How Balance increases (high-level)**</mark>

Balance can increase through:

* earning Conso Points from normal product usage (reading, interacting, participating)
* completing structured tasks or challenge loops (when applicable)
* converting from Energy through game mechanics (when available)

Balance is meant to reflect earned outcomes, not short-term spikes.

<mark style="background-color:$primary;">**Balance behavior and expectations**</mark>

***Balance is not “spend-only”***

Depending on future designs, Balance may support:

* purely cumulative behavior (only increases), or
* partial consumption in specific mechanics (e.g., certain redemptions)

For MVP expectations, treat Balance as your long-term record, not as a daily fuel.

***Balance is not guaranteed to equal money***\
Balance is a product points metric. It may be linked to rewards or programs, but is not a guaranteed monetary instrument.

**Notes**

Balance rules may change to maintain fairness and sustainability.

Conso Points is the system; Balance is the accumulated layer within it.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$info;">Can Balance decrease?</mark></summary>

In general, Balance is designed to be stable. Any decrease would only happen if Conso introduces explicit consumption mechanics or policy adjustments.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$info;">Why do I need Balance if I already have Energy?</mark></summary>

Energy paces earning. Balance records long-term contribution.
